The great thing about GumSaver, is it’s really easy to use, and not that different to using a normal toothbrush.

Watch the video, or follow the step by step instructions below to start using your GumSaver brush. It may feel a little strange at first, but you should get used to it in a couple of days.

Using the GumSaver brush

Just 3 steps to great oral health!

  1. The first time you use the GumSaver brush, it’s a good idea to use a mirror and a strong overhead light so you can see what you’re doing.
  2. Before you start, moisten the GumSaver bristles with water, and use toothpaste or chlorhexadine gel.  Begin by placing one of the two bristle tips between two teeth and gently poke down into the gum, giving the gum a good massage.
  3. Tilt the brush slightly and repeat the same action with the other tip, on the other side of the gum. Work your way around your mouth, repeating this action at both sides of every tooth.

Additional tips

Cleaning your gums with GumSaver will feel different from using a normal toothbrush but you’ll soon get used to it. And once you do, you’ll be back on track to a healthy mouth!

If you have bleeding gums, soreness and inflammation, you already have a degree of gum disease and should use your GumSaver daily, after your normal brushing and flossing routine. You may find it uncomfortable at first, and your gums will bleed a little more, but don’t worry – this is a perfectly normal part of the process to cure gum disease.

You will soon notice a reduction in redness and inflammation and, in time, the bleeding will stop completely. Once you start feeling and seeing your gums tighten, you can use your GumSaver less frequently (we recommend 2-4 times a week).

If you have a prescription for Chlorhexidine mouthwash or gel, GumSaver is the ideal applicator – simply dab a little gel on the bristle tip (or dip it in mouthwash) so you can target the right area with the treatment.
